Description

Tafahi Island, an alluring cone-shaped extinct volcano, is located just 9 km (5.6 mi) from Niuatoputapu. The island, freely accessible for yachties or via a boat ride arranged with local fishermen, is a breathtaking natural spectacle. Most visitors are drawn to the challenging but rewarding ascent to the summit of the volcano, which stands at 560 m (1,837 ft). From this vantage point, on clear days, you can even see Samoa. While exploring Tafahi, getting a local guide is advisable, as is common for most excursions in The Niuas.
