Located close to the Lakufa’anga Cliffs and Rock Gardens, the Pangai Mounds represent the historical site of the first administrative capital village (pangai) of the area. Each mound once supported a residence and was where the first fanongonongo tokoto, a unique form of communication involving lying on the ground and shouting messages, took place.
