The Paepae ‘o Tele’a Royal Tombs, located in the village of Lapaha on Tongatapu, are an extraordinary historical site with two of around 28 Terraced Tombs in the area. These pyramid-like stone memorials include the tomb of Tele’a, a 16th-century Tu’i Tonga (king). The site represents a significant part of Tonga's ancient history and showcases remarkable engineering and stonework.
