The Mala’ekula Royal Tombs, set in a prominent grassy area in the heart of Nuku’alofa, is a major historical site and the final resting place of the Royal House of Tupou. Dating back to King Taufa’ahau Tupou I, who passed away in 1893, these tombs are a testament to the rich royal history of Tonga. Although the site is fenced off and not accessible to the public, visitors can admire the grandeur of the tombs and their statues from a distance, capturing a glimpse of Tongan royal heritage.
