The Mea’ofa experience is a must do on Tongatapu. I spent the day with my instructor Lou and got to learn about the process, history, and meaning of different crafts including tapa, weaving, and carving. By getting to try the skills myself and understand what goes into it, the souvenirs I made are so much more meaningful. Not only that, the Fehoko team include some of the best carvers in Tonga with their works featured all over the country. After this, I really can’t look at ngatu / tapa or carvings the same again! I highly recommend this experience. The instructors are incredibly knowledgeable and patient, and they offer everything else you need to be immersed in the day (pick-up and drop-off, delicious lunch, and a coconut). Thank you Lou and the team!

My tour with Lou was fantastic -- she was knowledgeable, kind, and generous. She was willing to answer all of my questions and tailor the tour to my interests. I would recommend Fehoko to anyone visiting Tongatapu and hoping to see a well-rounded view of the island from a local's perspective.

You were also very flexible in accommodating our request to visit souvenir shops, which made the tour even more satisfying. We truly enjoyed the delicious lunch, the fresh coconut juice, and all the wonderful food. Even after the scheduled end time, you continued guiding us generously until the very end—thank you so much for your time and dedication. When we visit Tonga again, we would absolutely love to join your tour once more. We were able to create such special memories, and we will never forget the experiences we had on this tour. Authentic, charming, family owned tours and crafting. We had several groups book sessions with them and all were happy with what they did. Highly recommend. Good value for your money.

Mea’ofa package is a must, my sister and I had so much fun, the people are so nice, and the things we make are worth every dollar. I also recommend to save money to spend at their art shop, they have beautiful handmade carvings and jewellery. We really enjoyed it all

Such fun activity! And a lovely souvenir to bring back home.
