If you’re visiting Tonga, book Robbie from Echoes of Tonga. We’ve done many tours over the years, and he’s one of the best — even our 15 & 17 year olds agree! Robbie doesn’t just drive you to landmarks; he brings Tongatapu alive with history, culture, stories, and details you’d never know without someone who truly loves this island. From Ha’amonga ‘a Maui to the blowholes, Hufangalupe’s natural bridge, and hidden gems, every stop feels special. He even catered to our coffee needs! It’s more than a tour — it’s a day with someone warm, funny, and deeply knowledgeable, who helps you see Tonga through local eyes. We also arranged airport transfers with him when we struggled to find someone. If you’re heading this way, book Robbie, Echoes of Tonga — it’ll be the best day you have!

We booked the whole-island tour because we arrived on Saturday night and nothing is open on Sunday. It was a good way to spend the day. Robbie is an excellent guide - knowledgeable, personable, accommodating and very kind.
Robby took us on a fantastic and comprehensive whole island tour, as well as on some short, site-specific trips on other days. He is extremely knowledgeable on Tongan culture, society and history, and is punctual, kind and very professional. Robby has ensured that each day we’ve had in Tonga has been wonderful. We highly recommend Echoes of Tonga, and Robby, for tours and overall trip planning.
We had a fantsstic tour with Robbie for our cruise port stop. We also had the pleasure of 4 trainee tour guides so it was a grest experience to understand their reasons for this type of work. The stops on tge tour were fantastic and lunch was some of ghe best locsl food. The 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed the day. Highly recommend this tour.
We had a wonderful tour with the very kind and generous Robbie. He was at the wharf with a large sign directing us to his vehicle. His knowledge of the island and the sites was very informative, not to mention his care for our wellbeing. I have no hesitation is recommending Echoes of Tonga.
