How do I get to Diana Beach Resort?
You can fly into Lifuka Island, which has a small airport, or arrive by ferry. From there, it’s a short transfer to Uoleva Island.

What types of accommodation do you offer?
We have traditional Tongan fale, wooden beach huts, and camping sites.

When is the best time to see whales?
Whale season in Ha’apai runs from July to October, with tours available daily during that time.

Do you need experience for whale swimming?
No prior experience is required, and our team provides full guidance and support.

Is the resort family-friendly?
Yes, families are welcome, with a mix of adventurous and relaxing activities suitable for all ages.

How do I get to Diana Beach Resort?
You can fly into Lifuka Island from Tongatapu (flights operate Monday to Saturday via Lulutai Airline). Alternatively, there’s a ferry from Tongatapu usually on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Once in Lifuka, the resort arranges pickup and transport to Uoleva.

What is “Island Time”?
“Island Time” means things move at a relaxed, easy-going pace. Schedules may shift, flights or ferry departures may change, and services may run a little slower than what you’re used to.

Is there Wi-Fi / Internet at the resort?
Currently the resort does not offer Wi-Fi. Reception via a local Digicel SIM card is good, and you can buy one when you arrive in Tongatapu.

What about electricity?
Shared facilities are powered by solar energy. Fales are not yet individually supplied with their own power, but that is something in development.

What are typical weather conditions like?
Most visitors come between July and September (Tongan “winter”) when the weather is moderate—daytime temps around 24-28°C, nights 20-22°C. Water temperature usually 23-25°C.

Are whale tours guaranteed?
No, whale encounters cannot be guaranteed, but in practice nearly all tours have included sightings and many tours allow for in-water encounters.

What food and meals are available?
Breakfast, lunch and dinner can be provided for an additional charge. There is also a shared kitchen facility, and you can purchase groceries on Lifuka Island.

What should I bring with me?
Essentials include a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, a power bank (since solar-powered facilities may mean limited electricity), swimming gear, mask and fins for snorkeling, and a refillable water bottle. Rainwater is collected for drinking, but you’ll want to bottle it.

Is there anything I need to be aware of with local customs or days when services are limited?
Yes. On Sundays (Tongan Sunday), many services, shops, airports are closed. It’s a day of rest and worship locally. Plan accordingly.

What is the deposit and cancellation policy?
A 20% deposit is required to secure a booking. The deposit is non-refundable in the event of cancellation.
