Houmale'eia Beach, also known as Matafonua Beach due to its proximity to Matafonua Lodge, stands out among Ha'apai's many exquisite beaches. Easily accessible and located at the northern tip of Foa Island, connected to Ha'apai's main island, this beach is celebrated for its exceptional snorkelling opportunities. Just a short swim from the shore lies a 400 m (1,312 ft) reef within an established marine reserve. Additionally, the beach is conveniently backed by a couple of resorts, offering options for dining or accommodation; either way, book in advance during peak season.
